Established in 1950, QIQIHAR Heavy CNC Equipment Corp, Ltd. has evolved into one of the leading producers of large vertical and horizontal lathes in the world. With a staff exceeding 3,800 employees QIQIHAR builds over 1500 machines every year, supplying machinery to over 30 countries around the world. The company's facility covers over 10 million square feet.

QIQIHAR specializes in the production of vertical turning machines, horizontal lathes, roll lathes and deep hole drilling machines. QIQIHAR vertical turning machines have a turning capacity from as small as 39 inches in diameter to over 55 feet in diameter. Horizontal lathes are produced with part swings over the bed from 40 inches to over 20 feet with part lengths between centers up to 82 feet.

In January 2008, QIQIHAR Heavy appointed Pilsen Imports as the exclusive representative of its Vertical Turning Lathes in the United States and Canadian markets.
