The
SKA vertical lathe is manufactured in a variety of sizes from 39"
118" (1000 3000mm) table diameters. The enclosed
guarding surrounding the working area allows the use of high-pressure
coolant and air mist collection.
The SKA vertical lathe use a two-step epicyclic gearbox which is
fixed directly on the rotary tool drive motor. The ram coolant supply
is made with an optional coolant outlet outside or through the center
of the tool.
The 30 or 60 position chain tool magazine is located on the right
side under the cross rail. It is separated from the machine working
area by means of a protective guard. The tool magazine is used for
turning tool holders, rotary tool spindles, angle heads, grinding
equipment and other tool holders. The SKA vertical lathes can also
be equipped with a rotary tool magazine having 24 positions.
The SKA sizes 25 and 30 are available with two rail heads.
Major Advantages:
- Tool
magazine for 30 toolholders
- Automatic
live spindle exchange
- Rotary
tool magazine for 24 live spindles ISO/CAT 50 taper
- An
adjustable, horizontal auxiliary storage area allows for quick
tool exchange. Most of the manipulation time takes place during
machining or part measuring.
- Rigid
machine frame and large diameter table bearing
- Specially
hardened and ground crossrail guideways provide high machining
precision
- Increased
ram extension up to 53.5"
- Enclosed
guarding surrounding the machine working area
- Coolant
with optional outside outlet or with an outlet to the center of
the tool
The
machine can be equipped with a third controlled C-axis and a live
spindle drive. This adds the following possibilities to the turning
operations:
- Highly
efficient drilling and tapping
- Horizontal
or vertical milling
- Vertical
grinding
A
pallet changer is available which can increase productivity by providing
part changeover and setup off the machine during the machining cycle.
